Kalliope lives with one purpose.

To inspire.

As an immortal muse, she doesn’t have any other choice. It’s part of how she was made. Musicians, artists, actors—they use her to advance their art, and she uses them to survive. She moves from one artist to the next, never staying long enough to get attached. But all she wants is a different life— a normal one. She’s spent thousands of years living lie after lie, and now she’s ready for something real.

Sweet, sexy, and steady, Wilder Bell feels more real than anything else in her long existence. And most importantly… he’s not an artist. He doesn’t want her for her ability. But she can’t turn off the way she influences people, not even to save a man she might love. Because in small doses, she can help make something beautiful, but her ability has just as much capacity to destroy as it does to create. The longer she stays, the more obsessed Wilder will become. It’s happened before, and it never turns out well for the mortal.

Her presence may inspire genius.

But it breeds madness, too.

Why Did I Read?

A paranormal NA! I was all over that! Plus, it’s Cora.

My Thoughts:

Kalliope, better known as Kalli, is an immortal muse and inspires people — musicians, writers, artists, etc. However, she can never become too attached to someone because then it could drive them mad. I can’t even imagine having to go through the things she does for decades upon decades! On a chance encounter, she meets Wilder. He looks business like and studious and quiet but has tattoos up and down his arms. Quite the dichotomy and one I was totally on board with.

Wilder Bell. Once reckless, now turned responsible due to family circumstances, Wilder is so sweet and caring on top of being drop dead sexy. I loved Kalli and Wilder together. They have this pull toward one another and while it may lean a bit toward instalove, I didn’t even care because I just loved their chemistry together. I ADORED Wilder. It’s pretty much a toss up between who my favorite Cora guy is: Wilder or Silas. Probably Wilder though (I’m so sorry Silas, I really do love you).

Inspire had a definite contemporary feel but the paranormal aspects that were in there were really interesting. I’ve always been a fan of Greek mythology so I’m super curious where the series will go! I feel like this first book is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the mythology and paranormal aspects go and I can’t wait for the sequel! (Holy cliffhanger, you guys!!)

In Short:

Cora’s writing just keeps getting better and you do not want to miss this paranormal NA from her! Wilder Bell will climb your book boyfriend list for sure!

My Rating: 5 Stars!

  1. I am so excited for the next book! You’re right- that cliffhanger was just not cool! I loved Wilder too. I still think Jackson Hunt might be my favorite Cora boy, but Wilder is a pretty close second. He definitely made me swoon something fierce!

  2. Wilder is MINE. Just remember that. 😉
But, yeah, Wilder and Silas…. can’t get better than that. I just love how committed Wilder is right away, and his and Kalli’s chemistry is fantastic. I can’t wait for book 2!
