Monthly Recap! April 2016

It’s May — BEA MONTH!!! Woo! My recap post is late because I spent the first few days of May finishing my binge read of The Winner’s Curse series (freaking amazing by the way)! Sorry not sorry that I kept reading instead of finishing my posts! (Sidenote: I really need to start my series a month sooner in the month, haha.)

May is going to be a truly epic month — in fact, this weekend I will be reading The Raven King AND watching Captain America: Civil War so basically… I will be killed by feels. I’m not even sure how or why I decided it would be a good idea to 1) read the Winner’s curse series, 2) read The Raven King and 3) watch Civil War, all in the span of a week. I’m a masochist, clearly.

Anyway, here is how my April went! It was a bit of a slower reading month due to being super busy but I read some amaazing books!

Favorites of the month: I finished the Raven Boys series in the first few days of April and counted it for March so we’ll ignore those, haha. Hero of Ages without a doubt — it was so brilliant, mind blowing and amazing! Also loved the Winner’s Curse series so all in all, a good month!

Favorite Things This Month:

The Seahawks 12K race!! The race I’ve been training for since January! It was so much fun, I got really nervous/anxious because I had been getting such bad shin splints when running but it worked out! I powered through the pain for the first 4 miles and then it didn’t hurt as much for the rest of the race. Here I am, decked out in all my Seahawks gloriousness — I want to figure out how I can wear this tutu all the time. 😉

There were so many people there (they say about 10,000!) and everyone was repping the blue and green! It was great! The route took us by their training facility and it’s seriously a gorgeous place. Go Hawks!

BEA prep! I was really excited to look through the BEA schedule (except their site realllly is terrible) and plan things out! And just general pre-BEA excitement — it’s a thing!
