Why Did I Read? The witches and historical fiction premise sounded so interesting! My Thoughts: When I first heard about this book, I was so excited for it because I had this phase back when I was younger where I just loved historical fiction. I also was highly interested in the Salem witch trials (I loved the play The Crucible and the book The Witch of Blackbird Pond— the latter I read when I was really young and probably started my whole phase!) The Sound: Similar to my thoughts on The Selection audio, I liked the narrator, I thought she suited America well. However, the different voies would blend The Story: Alright. I really enjoyed The Selection. I liked the world, I liked Maxon, I had no problems with America, I was eager for more! But ohhhh the triangle drove me absolutely NUTS in this one. The Selection has now been narrowed to the Elite — six final girls. What’s next?? Well. America literally waffles […]

The Sound: The narrator was pretty good, I had no complaints. Sometimes the different voices blended together a bit but nothing too bad. The Story: You know, this series garners such passionate reactions from both ends of the spectrum! Honestly, the mixed reviews had me so hesitant to pick this up. But Kelly convinced me that it was worth it to check it out! And I’m glad I did! See, I love the Bachelor and the Bachelorette. It’s my guilty […]

My Thoughts: I absolutely loved Megan’s Bowler University series so when I heard that she was going to be doing a spin off series about Max Payton’s brothers, I was ALL over that. Cal Payton works at Payton and Sons mechanic shop with his brother Brent and his dad Jack. Cal is so grumpy and stubborn but he has SUCH a soft heart underneath all his gruffness! I loved how grumpy he was. Being the oldest, he was the one who basically […]

Why Did I Read? Estelle asked me if I would like to read it for review and I’m so glad I said yes! My Thoughts: I was so surprised by this book. I don’t think I realized how much suspense would be in it and how wonderfully balanced the suspense and the romance was! I was seriously roped in from page one and was immersed into the story! Technically, this is a companion to book 1, The Gilded Cuff, and I think I […]
