TTT: Top Ten Books By My Favorite Authors I STILL Haven’t Read (Yet!)

Posted September 25, 2018 by Wendy in Top Ten Tuesday / 9 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl !

This week we are talking about books by our favorite authors we haven’t read yet! I have quite a few favorite authors where I have read their entire backlist so it was interesting to see what I haven’t read yet from my faves! Sometimes it’s a little sad to finish off a favorite author’s works because you just have to wait until more but these are some I just for some reason still haven’t gotten to yet!

1. All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater: I looove The Raven Cycle series! Her Mercy Falls series wasn’t as much for me but I’ve had this since release date and still haven’t read yet! I love Maggie but got a little nervous from mixed reviews of this one. I really do want to read it asap though!

2. Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas: I adore Lisa Kleypas! I love her historical romance and the Travises series was also fantastic – I don’t know why I haven’t continued on with the series yet?!

3. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson: This is funny because I literally started this at the beginning of the summer, decided I wanted to read Amy and Roger first, and omg somehow haven’t read this yet?! I LOVE Morgan. I really am going to read this within the month.

4. On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta: I LOVED Melina Marchetta’s Lumatere Chronicles series – I’ve reread it multiple times and it is just the best. But I’ve never read any of her contemporaries! I’m curious and eager to read them!

5. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: I really love Amie Kaufman and this series has been on my TBR for years and years and it sounds like totally my sort of thing and it’s one of life’s mysteries why I haven’t read it yet. SOON!

6. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys: I really love Ruta Sepetys historical fiction – just so so good, and emotional and the best. I still have this one I haven’t read though! I actually own it and hopefully will get to it soon!

7. The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling): I’ll be honest, I think the reason I haven’t tried this one is because I didn’t want anything to affect my love of Harry Potter? Which is silly because I can still love HP and J.K. even if a book is a miss (see above with Maggie Stiefvater and me not liking the Mercy Falls series). So I definitely want to check this one out! (It is on hold for me at the library as I put this post together!)

8. The Chase by Elle Kennedy: I mean… I’ve only been waiting for this book to come out since… forever?! It’s just I wanted to reread the Off-Campus books to adequately prep for this one, haha. I am almost done rereading The Deal (an all time FAVE)!

9. Renegades by Marissa Meyer: I was so excited for this one from Marissa, having loved the Lunar Chronicles! As with most of my TBR, I just haven’t gotten to this one yet but since the sequel comes out soon, I will get on top of it!

10. Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo: I read her Grisha trilogy as they released, and the Six of Crows duology as well and love Leigh so much! I was ecstatic to hear about the folk tales being illustrated and released in a beautiful hardcover edition and even own two copies! But have failed to read it. I will do it soon!

Tell me who some of your favorite authors are! Do you tend to binge back lists or leave some so you’re not left without any books left of your favorites? Do we have any overlap in faves or books unread?

  1. I’m with you on Rowling/Galbraith. I really want to see what I think of the Galbraith series, but I’m scared it will taint my Rowling love. I wish I didn’t know that Galbraith was really Rowling, so I could be more objective about it!

I also love Sepetys. Luckily (or unluckily) she doesn’t publish often, so I can keep up with her! BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY is actually my least favorite of hers. SALT TO THE SEA is exceptional and I also really liked OUT OF THE EASY.

    Happy TTT!

  2. I really want to read the Grishaverse books, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I probably will in 2019 (it’s not that far away).

I try to read everything by my auto-buy authors. There’s always rereads, right? I’ve recently discovered short stories that they have written, so I’m working on those at this point.
