Hello summer! I’m looking forward to the summery weather and just can’t believe May flew by! It was packed with SO many exciting and fun events! And I have lots of other exciting things to look forward to in the summer!
There are so many books releasing this summer and I have to say that I’m getting some anxiety because I simultaneously want to read all the things and also just don’t have enough time to actually get to them all! Who else is with me on this?? Bookworm problems, am I right.
It was also my SIX year blogaversary in May! How crazy is that! I’ve got a giveaway going on for it, so be sure to check it out here!
Favorite Things In May:
A “for fun” climbing competition that had random fun obstacles/challenges (ie: zip lines, build the tallest tower from crash pads, try to balance on a huge barrel and grab a rubber chicken…) at a climbing gym here! Some of the challenges were a little sketch for sure but it made for a really fun day!
I went to visit my BFF and book soul sister Becca for a weekend! We ate amazing rolled ice cream among other delicious foods and then did all the recovery things at her gym. Because what else would we do? Haha.
I got to see Jay Kristoff again on his Aurora Rising tour! He is so awesome and fun to listen to. I also loved Aurora Rising and can’t wait for the next book! Now I just need to read his Nevernight books!
I got to go to the filming of American Ninja Warrior which was SO AMAZING. I am a huge fan of the show and is one of the only shows I watch religiously. I know all the ninjas and root so hard for them because I know how hard they work and just want their dedication to pay off!! It was such a cool experience because while I know how hard and insane these courses are, seeing it RIGHT THERE in person magnified the scale! Like, that warped wall is HUGE. These athletes are just so amazing. And they’re so nice!! I saw many of them talk and take pictures with kids and Jessie Graff was right in front of me but the crew wanted a picture of little girls with her. I get it – showing how she inspires all these girls, right? But I totally turned to my husband and said “I’m a little girl too! I love her, too! She inspires me!” Haha 😉 I’m a big fan. I can’t wait until the Seattle episodes air! We had a really good spot right behind the obstacle right before the warped wall!

So, yes, the physical reading continues to go at a snail’s pace! I’m hoping the summer will mean more reading time! (but I’ve actually got a packed summer too sooo we’ll see and in the meantime thank goodness for audiobooks!)
Books Listened to in May: 6
Favorite read of the month: Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman and Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas! I adore these authors! One a nonstop sci-fi adventure and the other the latest in a fave historical romance series! I loved these two books so much.
Challenges Progress:
Goal: “Grand Slam” 21+
This month: 1 – Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren
Progress so far: 10/21
I checked off a few more of the Popsugar Reading Challenge objectives!
A book set in space: ✓ Aurora Rising
A book by two female authors: ✓ Dirty Rowdy Thing
Fitness Front:
I ran the Snohomish Women’s Half which is a favorite half of mine! It’s a gorgeous course and flat which is so nice. This is the race where I PRed last year! Working back from injury has taken me way longer than I thought it would but I was still happy with my time! I ran it in 2:03 with minimal hip soreness which means I am on my way back to where I was!
