Monthly Recap! September 2019

Posted October 14, 2019 by Wendy in recap / 0 Comments

Before you say anything, yes, I know, this recap is extremely delayed. Better late than never? It’s been a busy few weeks! Fall is definitely in full spring and I’m enjoying seeing the leaves start to change! I can’t say that I’m ready for the much colder temps starting to happen but in the meantime, bring on all the pumpkin things! (I basically have been trying out everything at Trader Joe’s!)

What are you reading this fall?

Favorite Things In September:

I took a short trip to Leavenworth with my parents and enjoyed walking around the stores and checking out the town! They hadn’t been there for many years and really enjoyed it! I also found a new favorite coffee place there. How far to drive is too far just for a coffee…? Hah.

Apple picking! I love apples — I eat one every day and couldn’t be more excited to go pick all the apples! And get apple cider donuts! Yumm. I subsequently baked a lot of apple crisps and it was DELICIOUS. I still have so many things I want to bake this fall! I love all the fall baked goods!

It’s no secret that I’ve been loooving the farmer’s market this summer and have made it a point to really take advantage of the fresh fruits and produce in my weekly meal planning! It was winding down which honestly was my biggest heartbreak transitioning out of summer. So, I basically planned my weeks around getting the rolled ice cream at the market every week since it was going away until next year! Obviously. Priorities, right? 😀

Month In Review:

Books Read in September: 2

Books Listened to in September: 2

Favorite read of September: I loved Warbreaker! Sanderson always writes such lush fantasy worlds and intricate magic systems!

Challenges Progress:

Goal: “Grand Slam” 21+
This month: 2 – (Permanent Record and When Summer Ends)
Progress so far:  18/21

Ack I didn’t check any off in September! Not surprising since I read so little (I was working through the huge tome that is Dark Age and it took me ALL of September and then some). But I am working on multiple PopSugar prompts right now!

Fitness Front:

I did the Strong In Fall fitness challenge from Danielle Pascente! 30 days of challenges with fantastic work outs and lots of community support! I love her work out circuits and am actually finishing up a few missed days since I was sick at the end of September!

I didn’t have any races in September – but just keeping up those track speed workouts and hill intervals in hopes to break a 2 hr half marathon time since my injury last year! I won’t be PRing, I know I’m not there yet but at least a sub 2 please!

How is your fall? What have you been reading? Do you do a seasonal TBR? Any spooky reads planned? Tell me how your September was!
