Monthly Recap! October 2018

Posted November 8, 2018 by Wendy in recap / 1 Comment

October flew by! Tell me how your October was and what you did/read! I didn’t get a chance to get to spooky Halloween reads because the month sort of got away from me. However, I am very much looking forward to Christmas and think I’m already going to start planning out some holiday reads!! Are you a big holiday reads person? If so, please do tell me what you’re reading because I’d love all your recs!

Favorite Things in October:

So, after a month+ of not running, I was given the go-ahead by my sports chiropractor to start running again and I couldn’t be more happy. I lost so much cardio and it has felt like the slowest journey to work my way back up but I know I have to start somewhere and also know I need to continue to take it slow so I can continue to heal. (My ankle is feeling a lot better and my hip is ehh but improving…)

Anyway, one of my favorite things is that I was able to run up to 3 miles so I jumped on that and signed up for a fun pirate themed race and was so happy to do a race again!

I also got to participate in a climbing competition, putting myself in the lowest category so I wouldn’t push myself and further my injuries – it was a lot of fun!

Month in Review:

Books Read In October: 3

Audiobooks Listened to in October: 5

Favorite read of the month: Marrying Winterbourne and The Wicked King! Loved both of those!

2018 Challenges Progress:

Goal: “Grand Slam” 21+
This month: 2
Progress so far:  20/21 – I think it’s safe to say I’ll probably make this challenge!

Are you excited for the upcoming holiday season? Thanksgiving is my favorite for all the food but I love Christmas and all the holiday stuff that goes along with it! I’m already planning out holiday reads! What about you?

  1. I always *think* I’m going to bust out the holiday books in December, but I never end up doing it! I just go directly to my TV when I want a cheesy rom-com holiday movie :p

I got to read The Art of Losing by Lizzy Mason in October (my favorite read of the month!) but it definitely put me in some sort of reading funk. I’m reading Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner now, which is focused mostly on plot—works for me because it’s moving things along!

Glad to hear you can start running again!
