February was sort of a crazy month! We got a crazy amount of snow which rarely ever happens in the Pacific NW (they say this is the most we’ve had in something like 70 years??) and this city is not equipped for snow. We are super hilly, we don’t have enough plows and so when this happens that once in 70 years, we all get snowbound. It was cool for the first day or so but it quickly got old, haha. I’m looking forward to March and really wishing for some warmer temperatures, please!!
Favorite Things In February:
I got to go to some fun author events! Robin LaFevers was here at the beginning of the month and I read Grave Mercy (finally) and LOVED IT. I can’t wait to finish the series and dive into the new spin off because it sounds amazing!
Maggie Stiefvater also had a signing at the end of the month! I ADORE her. The Raven Cycle is one of my favorite series and I call The Scorpio Races the book of my soul. I reread it every year and I was so excited to hear Maggie talk and meet her. She is honestly one of the most talented people and just truly a delight to listen to! She is so funny and I could listen to her talk about everything and anything. I love her writing and can’t wait for her latest releasing this fall: a spin off Ronan book!! Call Down the Hawk – it comes out this November!
Update on my movie/tv goals for 2019: got through Buffy season 6!! I had watched half of it before (twice, actually) but it was so incredibly hard to get through. It was so emotional, sad and gosh, just so rough. But I got through it this time! I can’t wait for season 7 and then I’ll be able to dive into Slayer by Kiersten White! I also eventually want to check out the graphic novels.

Fitness Front:
I ran a half marathon that I was supposed to run with my running bestie but it didn’t work out due to the massive amount of weather we got! She was trapped on the other side of the mountains on the other half of the state so I ran it solo. Waiting on my hip to full recover meant monitoring my pace during mile splits very closely to make sure I could make it that full 13.1 miles! As soon as it started aching (around mile 9) I made sure to slow it way down! It worked out and I powered through the 13.1 with my hip feeling okay! (It always is perpetually sore and tight especially after runs but like not hurting the whole rest of the day). It’s weird to slow when cardio wise I feel fine — honestly, recovering after injury is so hard to reel yourself in!
