Monthly Recap! January 2019

Posted February 5, 2019 by Wendy in recap / 0 Comments

So January ended being a really busy month for me. I was feeling tired and worn out but then ALAMW happened and I got to see so many friends and it really made me feel better about life! So here’s how the first of the month went for me! Tell me how January treated you!

Favorite Things in January:

I finally saw Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and I loved it! I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly, and it was fantastic! It has such a great soundtrack too and I think is an awesome addition to Marvel!

ALAMW! I had such an amazing time seeing friends I typically don’t get to see and talking books! There are so many exciting releases coming out this year and I had a great time talking to publishers about their anticipated releases. It was also so nice to have a book event in my city! I didn’t have to worry about luggage and weight limits and also just hopped in my car to drive there! I got to grab drinks and dinner with Andi and Gail and Becca stayed with me over the weekend and we ate all the things!

Seattle Brewing Company, beautiful weather over Pike Place, me holding onto a finished copy of King of Scars (!!!) and meeting Kate Quinn (!!). I couldn’t believe I got to meet her! <3

Month in Review:

Books Read In January: 2

Audiobooks Listened to in January: 5

Favorite read of the month: Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas! I love the Ravenel series and absolutely loved this one!

2019 Challenges Progress:

Goal: “Grand Slam” 21+
This month: 1 – I read Lucky In Love by Kasie West
Progress so far:  1/21

I checked off one of the Popsugar Reading Challenge objectives!
A book with “love” in the title:Lucky in Love by Kasie West

Fitness Front:

I started hang boarding per my new year’s goals! It was the first time and I was verrry sore the next day– on my right side. I think my left shoulder was sort of bothering me and I compensated to my right! Oops! Will be remedying that 🙂

I am still trying to rehab my hip. It’s a seriously frustrating journey but I think I’m starting to build up miles again. When Becca was here over ALAMW weekend, we went on an 8 miler together which was great to run and chat!

We woke up at 5am to get this 8 miler done before heading to ALAMW!

How was the start to your 2019? Tell me what you started the year off reading! What challenges do you have for yourself this year? Any bookish goals?
